Namibia is one of the most spectacular natural countries in the world: endless deserts, wild coastlines, vast reserves and abundant wildlife. And at the heart of the journey, a moving meeting with the women of the Himba tribe, the red women, who have preserved an ancient and fascinating way of life.

The Route, Day by Day

  1. Day1

    Landing in Windhoek

    We land in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, pick up the jeeps and share a get to know each other evening at a local restaurant.

  2. Day2

    Into the Namib desert

    Driving into the heart of the Namib desert, Sossusvlei. In the afternoon, a sunset tour on the great dune, and an evening at a desert lodge.

  3. Day3

    Sunrise on the dunes and the desert road

    We rise early for sunrise over the red dunes and set out on the legendary desert road D1983 toward Walvis Bay. A picnic along the way, a visit to Dune 7 and the pink salt pans.

  4. Day4

    Seals and quad bikes

    A morning catamaran cruise among the seals, and in the afternoon, quad bikes among the dunes on the Dare Devil adventure. Overnight in Swakopmund, Namibia's German coastal town.

  5. Day5

    On to Palmwag

    We drive north to the Palmwag region for a day safari, and in the afternoon we search for the rare desert elephants. Overnight in camp.

  6. Day6

    Off-road along the Hoarusib River

    A true field day along the Hoarusib riverbed, wild landscapes with no equal. Camping under a sky full of stars.

  7. Day7

    On to Purros

    We continue the off-road journey to Purros, deep in the wild Kaokoland region. Camping in the field.

  8. Day8

    The Ongongo waterfalls

    An off-road journey to the Ongongo waterfalls, a magical natural pool in the heart of the desert. We swim, rest and breathe.

  9. Day9

    The red women

    A moving day: driving to Opuwo and visiting the Himba tribe, the red women. A meeting of women across cultures that we will never forget.

  10. Day10

    Safari in Etosha

    We enter Etosha National Park through the Galton gate for a full day of safari. At night: watching the animals come to drink at the Okaukuejo waterhole.

  11. Day11

    Back to Windhoek

    The drive back to Windhoek (440 km), returning the jeeps, and a closing party the way only we know how.

  12. Day12

    Heading home

    Flying back to Israel, with red dust on our shoes and hearts twice their size.
